As a result of building a new extension on the back of this Greenwich town house, a change in the layout of the patio area and garden was required. The level of the patio was raised to match the level of the inside floor, to provide for the seamless inside-outside outdoor room. The garden was designed to reflect the contemporary interior. Trellis screening blocks out the large building site to the rear of the garden. Lighting provides the magic for using the garden at night. A focal-point waterfall drowns out the sounds of the building site and the noisy Greenwich traffic. The raised bed at the end of the garden was made from an old oak beam salvaged from the house. The old sundial was also salvaged from the previous garden.
